About Anita Slaughter

What years did you cheer?

1999/2000, 2000/2001, 2001/2002

What was unique about your first year?

Being part of the Music City Miracle play, Super Bowl XXXIV, and USO tour in Japan and Korea

What was your favorite part about your cheer experience?

So many things I LOVED….we never lost a game at home, winning first season incl the Music City Miracle and Super Bowl, performing with Toby Keith at the CMA’s, the most amazing fan base in the NFL, and making lifelong friendships.

What was the most difficult part about your cheering experience?

Probably sharing a tiny locker room with 31 other women!  Thankfully, the cheerleaders have had some upgrades as far as their dressing quarters since those first few years!

What is something you do now you never dreamed you’d be doing?

Selfies, lol!!  But definitely didn’t imagine I’d be doing a podcast!

What celebrity, past or present would you invite to dinner and why?

There are so many I’d LOVE to invite to dinner, all for very different reasons.  But I think what I need most right now is laughter, so I’m inviting Dave Chappelle!

If you could get rid of one month out of the year, what month and why?

January, without a doubt.  It’s cold, gloomy, long and dark.

What’s the worst fashion or hair decision you ever made?

80s hair!!!  OMG, we thought we were smokin’ but now we look back and see how tragic it actually was

What is the one mantra you remember growing up from a parent or grandparent?

My grandfather always said, don’t believe anything you hear and only half of what you see!  And that was before AI!!!!

What fictional character would you be best friends with in real life?

Although I love many superhero characters, Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man would be my best friend!  I’m always up for an adventure and the humor is brilliant!
